telc – C1 German Exam

Normally requires: around 1000 hours of instruction

TELC Deutsch C1 tests general German language skills at a highly advanced level. The test is intended for adults who need German in their social and professional life or for their studies.

At Level C1 you can express yourself spontaneously and fluently and carry on conversations effortlessly. You are familiar with slang expressions and you can purposely vary your language style. You also understand complex texts and maintain a high degree of grammatical correctness.

About the Test

The test consists of one written and one oral section.

The written exam is 3 hours and 35 minutes long.

You will have no time to prepare for the oral exam.

The oral exam is administered in pairs and can take place on the day of the written exam or on another day.
